My name is Kashem and I was born on 2nd February 1986. I enjoy taking pictures, especially on social issues, and those are the reasons behind my photography. Now I am working at AV section of SARPV-Bangladesh as a photographer and videographer. Through photography I want to answer a lot of questions and protest injustice. Another reason for doing photography is to support my family, although sometimes it is difficult to cope with my studies while I am working.

Once a rumor started in our neighbourhood, as members of Out of Focus, me and my sister Shopna each receive 20,000 Taka per month. So one day, my grandma asked me for some money or to buy her some clothes. 'Where am I supposed to get that money from?,' I asked. She said, 'Why, don't you and your sister get paid thousands every month? You can easily spend some to buy me some clothes!'

I am doing my general studies, and worked with a magazine as photographer for couple of months. Currently, I am working as a trainee at Drik Gallery. I like listening to music and playing with children. In the future, I want to be established as a photographer and explore the whole world through the camera's frame.
