The earth emerged from water say the scriptures.
Life had its beginnings in water, so say the sciences. Life cannot
be parted from water, water from life. For life in itself is all
water. Rivers froth, fume, murmur, glide, singing eternally songs
of movement. They create Bangladesh, where people have for centuries
been the best managers of water. A knowledge alas forgotten by
an over indulgent technology. They play a symphony weaving life’s
exuberance, death’s profusion, shaping its soul- deep seeking
and for looking, ever so home loving and yet never quite belonging,
anywhere.
