Durga Puja, the biggest festival of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, is being celebrated at a time when many Hindus are living in insecurity, fearing for their lives and property in their own country. A minority community in Bangladesh, Hindus have faced politically motivated violence and persecution many times over the years. We celebrate the festivities, in remembrance of those who have suffered in last weeks of violence. With Durga Puja's message of peace and justice, we hope events like these do not occur again.
